Introduction to Computers (Dates and Times)

This 2-day program introduces the participants to the basics of using a computer. Day One involves hands-on practice exploring Windows, learning how to find what programs you have on your computer, how to create shortcuts on the desktop, creating and saving a document using WordPad. Day two will have you sending and receiving emails with Windows Live Mail, learning how to attach a picture to your email and add someone to your address book. Then you will be Goggling the Internet using Internet Explorer learning how to find topics of interest and specific web sites.

Windows Calendar (Dates and Times)

Tired of trying to keep everyone’s schedule straight? Need a better way than the fridge door to post appointments, soccer practice, hockey games, etc.? Want a calendar that you can access from work? Then you will want to learn how to use the Vista Calendar to book recurring appointments, setup reminders, invite others to join an event and share the calendar.

Live Mail (Dates and Times)

Email has become unbelievably popular as an efficient way to keep in touch with family, clients, customers, etc. Learn how to Send/Receive messages, how to Attach Pictures and Files and how to Add People to your Contacts list. Impress family and friends by adding your own custom Signature and Stationary to your messages. Learn how to prevent email spamming and basic email etiquette.

Windows XP/7 Level I (Dates and Times)

With hands-on practice participants will learn the fundamentals of the Windows Operating system. Topics covered include: familiarization with the computer keyboard; Desktop, Task bar, Start menu, Documents and Computer. After a discussion regarding the various types of software programs participants will use Word Pad to create files and save the file into folders. Emphasis will be on saving, copying/moving and deleting files. File storage methods will be discussed and participants will be introduced to various Windows Accessories.

 Windows XP/7 Level II (Dates and Times)

Learn to optimize computer performance and manage programs by installing/removing software, add new hardware, create shortcuts, customizing the Start menu and remove unwanted desktop items. Understand and use windows utilities such as Disk Cleanup, Disk De-fragmentation and Maintenance Schedules. Learn how to give your computer a general cleanup including keyboard, monitor, mouse and internal components.

Windows XP/7 Level III   (Dates and Times)

In this advanced level of using the Windows Operating System participants will learn how to setup a basic home network, activate Remote Desktop Assistance, Customize toolbars and the Task Bar, use the Run command, display hidden files, use Windows Backup and Restore feature, add tasks to the task scheduler and explore some of Windows XP accessories (Speech recognition, Windows Movie Maker, Instant Messenger, Media Player and Sound Recorder, Windows Fax, and Address Book)
