Microsoft Word Level I

Upon completion participants will be able to enter and perform basic formatting to create letters and memos. Emphasis will be placed on using the program most efficiently—Toolbars and Shortcut keys will be used and participants will enhance documents by adding page numbers, special characters, bullets and numbered lists. Paragraph formatting, spell checking, page setup, print preview and printing options will also be covered. Note: Great typing skills are not required!

Microsoft Word Level II

Participants completing Word Level II will create form letters, envelopes and labels, set and use tabs and create tables using Insert Table and Draw Table. Using a combination of WordArt and ClipArt participants will create a logo and insert it into a document.  To increase productivity participants will learn how to create and use auto text entrees and custom auto correct.

Word Level III

Working with long documents requires some special considerations. This course will cover creating and using Styles, Master Document, Table of Contents, Indexes, and Outline features of Word. Learn how to format text with columns and section breaks, add headers and footers, endnotes, and footnotes. Participants will learn how to efficiently edit longer documents by using the Find & Replace and the Tracking Revisions features as well as how to protect your document from unwanted changes.

Word Level IV - Using Graphics

Working with Themes and Advanced Page Layouts participants will learn how to create newsletters, brochures and flyers using MS Word. Formatting backgrounds including watermarks, Themes and Frames ;inserting and controlling graphics and diagrams and setting columns breaks and applying text wrap will be some of the features covered.

Microsoft Excel Level I

Computer users new to spreadsheets will complete a basic budget by entering labels, data and simple formulas. Efficient ways of formatting and editing will include using Cut/Copy and Paste and the Fill Series feature that greatly speeds up data entry. Modifying the budget by using Insert, Delete and Clear commands and Page Setup & Printing tips will be covered. Rounding out the course, participants will be introduced to charting and data basing where they will see how quickly Excel can sort and create subtotals from a list of transactions. Again, minimal typing required!

Microsoft Excel Level II

Working with large worksheets, multiple worksheets and linking worksheets are topics covered in Level II. Formulas using Excel’s built-in functions and named cells will be entered. To round out the course participants will learn how to protect data, worksheets and workbooks from unwanted changes as well as how to track changes. Added features of this course will cover autoformat, conditional formatting, and adding comments .

Microsoft Excel—Level III

Advanced users of Microsoft Excel will learn to use Excel’s productivity tools such as Goal Seek, Trace Errors, create Macros, build Pivot Tables, produce Scenarios, and use Consolidation to combine data from multiple workbooks. Participants will also learn to customize toolbars and set Excel’s Options.

 

Microsoft Excel Level IV

Participants will explore more advanced Data Base Features of the Excel program including: using a Data Form to enter data, Data Validation, Custom Sorts & Advanced Filters as well as how to Import and Export data in the Excel program.  Learn how to use & download existing Templates then create your own Forms using Drop Lists, Check Boxes, Radio buttons, & Spinners. Then learn how to incorporate formulas into the form then Format it and save it as a Template.

Microsoft Excel Level V (Charting)

Learn how to take the basics of Excel Charts and create more detailed charts appropriate for any presentation. Add text, arrows, titles and advanced formatting options to further customize the charts. Learn techniques to create the more complex charts used to analyze your data.

Microsoft Access Level I

Learn the basics of using this powerful database program. Topics covered include: creating tables and entering/editing data, creating and running simple queries and creating forms and reports using the Form and Report wizards.

Microsoft Access Level II

Learn how to control data entry by changing field properties, input masks, and default values and make use of check boxes, combo boxes and drop list fields. Perform advanced Queries on multiple tables, design your own forms and reports. Add calculating fields and password protect your data.

Microsoft Access Level III

After mastering the basics of the Access program participants will create Advanced Queries including:  Make-Table, Update, Append, Delete, Crosstab; using Inner, Outer or Self joins. A brief introduction to using SQL to change queries; practice creating Multi-table Forms and Creating Hyperlinks to other files will also be covered. This course will also give you an introduction to programming by using the Immediate IF Function to perform a calculation. Macros and Switchboards will be created to make your database more user-friendly.

Microsoft PowerPoint-I

Impress your peers at your next meeting with a professional presentation. Incorporate graphics, clip art, pictures, animation, sounds, graphs and charts to enhance your text. Add backgrounds, templates and transitions. Complete your presentation by printing the final product or by creating your own slide show presentation right on the computer screen

 

Microsoft Power Point-II

Further enhance your presentation by including video clips, CD sound tracks, narration, & advanced animation. Use Slide Master to add headers, footers & Logos and easily change formats for the entire presentation. Incorporate slides from other presentations, create custom shows and run a continuous presentation by adding slide timings. Learn how to burn your presentation onto a CD for use on another computer.

 

Microsoft Outlook I

Feeling a bit frazzled trying to keep everyone’s schedule straight? Learn to use Outlook to schedule your appointments, arrange meetings with several attendees, set up To-do lists, create journals and address books.

 

Microsoft Outlook II

With Outlook participants will learn to set up multiple calendars and set their calendar to be shared (viewed by others); create a “shared” contact list and learn how to journalize contact activities. Tracking contact with customers becomes easier when you attach relevant documents to your contact information and create your own custom templates to automatically insert customer information. Archive, import and export features will be explored as will the various views/filters and grouping options.

 

Microsoft Publisher – Level I

Learn to use this inexpensive publishing program to set up newsletters, brochures, flyers, forms, and much more. Add pictures, forms, and other attention getting icons to enhance the message you are sending. This program is a great tool for the home based business, school and church/community groups.

Microsoft Publisher – Level II

In Level II participants will create & work with multiple page documents such as newsletters, booklets, programs and resumes. Add page #’s, use Master Pages and create and use design gallery objects to create your own templates. Data can be imported from other programs and documents can be mass mailed out using Publishers mail merge feature. Learn how to share your document with others by making it into a pdf file and emailing it out to your client list.

 

Microsoft One Note Level I

With so much information coming your way - and in so many forms- you need one place to keep it all and a tool that is flexible enough to capture it. Learn how to use OneNote to organize notes, images, documents, files, etc.; take meeting notes; capture details of customer calls and meetings, etc. When the information is stored in one location, use OneNote to search and sort your data.
